We help Mecklenburg County homeowners work out whether foam is genuinely the right buy for their house, and get it installed properly when it is.

Why this site exists

Insulation is sold on energy savings, and energy savings are close to impossible for a homeowner to verify after the fact. That makes it easy to quote a large job for a house that needed a small one, and the difference is routinely thousands of dollars.

So this site does two things. It explains what each material and each assembly actually is, in plain language, including the cases where foam is the wrong purchase. And it puts you on the phone with a licensed contractor who will get into the attic and measure before quoting anything.

How the work gets done

Every job on this site is carried out by a licensed North Carolina contractor. We are not the crew in the truck, and we will tell you who is coming before anyone is scheduled. If you want to check a license yourself, the North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors is the register.

What we will not do

• Quote foam without looking in the attic first
• Spray a roof deck and say nothing about ventilation or humidity
• Foam around an atmospherically vented furnace and call it finished
• Skip the blower door because the answer might be a cheaper job

A sealed attic is a five-figure decision in many houses. Getting a second opinion is the sensible thing to do and we will not take it personally.
